Dear Beloved,
Praises be unto the Lord for, the Lord is the only God that is worthy of our praise.
Many times we think preaching the word of God, and sharing testimonies is about gathering people in the Church, cell groups, or under the trees. (Your life style) is the most tools to influence people. See this experience:
On the 21st of March 2010, at 04:15 am, there was a nock-knock on my door, when I asked who was there, it was my mother. She told me her in-laws from where my younger sister is married, have come so early that morning because, my younger sister and her child are facing difficulties of being ill one after another always.
When they go to the Hospital they are not accepted, till her in-laws goes to a traditional healer (sangoma), only after being at a traditional healer (sangomas) place they will be helped at the Hospital.
They believe the sicknesses and the fact of not being received at the Hospital, is because the Ndlovus dead spirits (ancestors) don’t know where my younger sister is, there fore they had come that morning so that I could please talk to the dead spirits of Ndlovus in other my sister and her child to be well.
What a challenge!!! Have you ever had that kind of request in your life?
Before I said a word, my brothers wife, replied: this boy does not connect with ancestors, he doesn’t talk with the dead because he is a child of God, he is a Christian. I just knocked my head up and down to show that she is right. We told the in laws that we would inform my bigger brother who deals with ancestral worship, and connect with the dead to help them. At the end I asked the old man, as you came to my family sir, you are here for help, and the person to help you is me at this point, allow me to do something that will help your grand son, and my younger sister, can I pray for them? Oh yes replayed the old man. I knelt down with both my knees, and I felt what Elijah have felt in mouth Carmel when he had to call the fire from haven to come and burn the offering. I said Lord of heavens and earth, I don’t connect with dead people because I am your child, so I come to you right now in the name of Jesus, because you are alive…
I just prayed for them, and sent them back with a promise that I would inform my bigger brother to come deal with their issue as they required, but in mean time I prayed that there be peace, because they said they came so early because they had not sleep, because the child was crying all night. At 07am I took a journey to meet my big brother and informed him all that had happened. His response was that they are on the right track, but they must come pay LOBOLA, then we can inform the ancestors that their child is now married to such and such family. Then we both left to meet the in-laws again at my mother’s house on the 22nd of March 2010. At the end of our conversation with them now with my big brother, the old man (in-law) said, please young man (Israel), last night we were able to sleep because of the prayer you had made, thank you very much for that, now I want you to pray more, because there is power in prayer I saw it last. Isn’t GOD AWESOME?
You see, I would have denied even to participate in that meeting as I knew it was about the ancestral worship and sacrifices, but as the man of the house, I had to stand firm in what I believe, and let people know that my way of doing things is God’s ways and principles, then let the choose if they need my help or no. They agreed and saw the power of God, not the power of the ancestors they came talking about. You see the power of prayer, they came talking about ancestors, and they left under the power of the living God which changed their circumstances. The second prayer I made I prayed that the Old man will know and recognise that God is the ultimate choice we have, if we believe in God, he hears our prayers, and come to our rescue.
- How many times have you run away from similar issues(taking responsibilities)?
- Till when are you going to try to avoid facing difficulties?
- How fast can you run away from your responsibility when things are hot?
PS: Stand firm in who you are in God, let God deal with situations, and circumstances as you trust Him. Just let God be God, it will all be well with you, and for the ones around you.
